Aquaforest Component C
Aquaforest Component C is a concentrated liquid microelement supplement formulated to correct and maintain natural seawater levels of iodine and fluorine in reef tanks. Iodine plays a key role in coral cellular functioning and nutrient transfer, while fluorine contributes to calcification and skeletal tissue development. Component C is intended to replace trace amounts lost to skimming and filtration so corals and filter feeders can thrive.
Use Component C together with Components A and B as part of a complete microelement program; dose each component separately and leave a short interval between additions to avoid direct mixing. Start with the manufacturer’s recommended weekly dose, then fine-tune dosing according to your tank’s coral load, consumption and test results for best, reef-safe results.
Key benefits
- Restores iodine and fluorine to reef-appropriate levels.
- Supports coral cellular health and nutrient transfer.
- Aids calcification and skeletal development in stony corals.
- Works with Components A & B for full trace-element maintenance.
Who it’s for
Aquarists running mixed or coral-heavy reef tanks who want consistent trace-element levels. Suitable for hobbyists who dose weekly or prefer daily microdosing for steadier parameters.
Composition & plain-language purpose
Component C is a calibrated liquid formula supplying iodine and fluorine at ratios intended to mirror natural seawater. These microelements are consumed slowly by corals and can become depleted in closed aquarium systems, so targeted replenishment helps maintain natural biological processes and coloration. For complete batch ingredient details, refer to the product label.
Dosing guide
- Standard weekly dose (mixed reef): add 5 ml per 100 L (approx.) of aquarium water once a week.
- Adjusted dosing: dose 1 ml for every 20 ppm of calcium consumption per 100 L for tanks run by consumption method.
- Balling method: mix 20 ml Component C per 1 L KH buffer solution (if preparing Balling solutions).
- Microdosing alternative: divide the weekly dose by seven and dose daily for steadier levels.
- Important: when dosing Components A, B and C, keep ~5 minutes between each component and never mix components in the same container.
- Always test water parameters and adjust to aquarium consumption and coral response.
Practical tips
-
Begin with manufacturer recommendations and observe coral response for 2–4 weeks.
-
Reduce dose for lightly stocked tanks and increase slowly for densely populated reefs.
-
Combine Component C use with routine water changes, and stable calcium/alkalinity/magnesium management.
Storage & handling
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not store mixed solutions or combine different components in one container.
Precautions
-
For aquarium use only — keep away from children and pets.
-
In case of skin or eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
-
Test and monitor parameters; consult a reef specialist before major dosing changes in sensitive systems.
