Boyu Aquarium Equipment Brand Overview

Boyu is one of China’s largest aquarium equipment manufacturers, operating since the 1990s under Guangdong Boyu Aquarium Industries. The brand produces a comprehensive range of aquarium hardware covering everything from nano desktop tanks to large reef systems and pond equipment. Boyu products are distributed globally and are well established in the Indian market as a reliable, mid-range brand. At Ocean Paws we stock Boyu protein skimmers, air pumps and siphon cleaners with pan India shipping.

Boyu Canister Filters

The Boyu EF series external canister filters are one of the brand’s most recognised product lines globally. Available in multiple flow rates from around 500 litres per hour for smaller tanks up to 1500 litres per hour for larger setups, the EF series uses multi-stage media compartments for mechanical, biological and chemical filtration. Boyu also produces the EFU series which includes an integrated UV steriliser in the canister body, allowing hobbyists to combine filtration and UV treatment in one unit. This is particularly useful for freshwater tanks where UV helps control free-floating algae and certain bacterial infections.

Boyu Internal Filters and Submersible Pumps

Boyu makes a range of internal submersible filters for tanks under 100 litres. These are commonly used as starter filters for freshwater tanks, breeding setups and quarantine tanks. They are simple to operate and easy to clean. Boyu also produces submersible circulation pumps for use in sumps, waterfalls and general tank circulation.

Boyu Air Pumps

Boyu produces compact single and dual outlet air pumps for aquarium use. These run sponge filters, air stones, protein skimmers and under-gravel filter plates. Ocean Paws stocks the Boyu Air Pump S-510 for hobbyists looking for a quiet and reliable air supply for their tanks.

Boyu Protein Skimmers

Boyu’s WG series internal protein skimmers are the most specialised product in their range and one of the most important for marine and reef tank keepers. Protein skimmers pull dissolved organic compounds out of the water before they break down into ammonia, reducing the nutrient load on your biological filter and keeping water crystal clear. The WG-308, WG-310 and WG-428 cover nano to medium reef tanks. This is a product category that very few Indian online aquarium stores carry for the Boyu brand, making Ocean Paws one of the few places to source them online.

We stock the Boyu WG-308 Protein Skimmer at ₹2,500, the Boyu WG-310 at ₹2,800, and the Boyu WG-428 at ₹4,699.

Boyu Water Chillers

Boyu manufactures aquarium water chillers for tropical and temperate fish species that require cooler water temperatures, as well as for reef tanks in warm climates where summer temperatures can push water above safe limits. The chiller range covers tanks from around 100 litres up to large systems. This is especially relevant in India where summer months can raise aquarium temperatures significantly.

Boyu Complete Aquarium Systems

Boyu produces complete turnkey aquarium systems including the ORCA series of nano reef tanks. These come with integrated filtration, lighting and circulation equipment built into the tank design, making them a popular choice for beginners who want a reef-ready system without sourcing individual components.

Boyu Siphons and Maintenance Tools

Boyu makes gravel siphons and aquarium cleaning tools for routine tank maintenance. The siphon range covers manual and battery-powered options for gravel vacuuming during water changes. Ocean Paws stocks the Boyu BY-28 Siphon Cleaner at ₹800 for aquarium maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions about Boyu

What makes Boyu protein skimmers different from other brands?

The Boyu WG series is one of the few genuinely affordable internal protein skimmer options available in India. Most Indian stores stock canister filters and air pumps from Boyu but skip the skimmer range. Ocean Paws carries the WG series specifically because it fills a gap for reef keepers on a budget.

Does Ocean Paws stock Boyu canister filters?

We currently stock Boyu protein skimmers, air pumps and siphon cleaners. If you are looking for a specific Boyu canister or chiller model, reach out to us on WhatsApp and we will check availability for you.

Are Boyu products suitable for marine tanks?

Yes. The WG protein skimmers are designed specifically for marine and reef use. The canister filters and EFU UV series also work well in marine setups with appropriate media.
