SunSun Aquarium Equipment Brand Overview

SunSun is one of China’s most recognised aquarium equipment manufacturers, supplying hobbyists and fish keepers across Asia, Europe, the US and now India. Founded in the early 2000s, SunSun has grown into a full line brand that covers nearly every piece of hardware a freshwater or marine aquarium keeper needs. Their products are known for solid build quality, consistent performance and pricing that makes the hobby accessible without forcing hobbyists to choose between reliability and budget.

SunSun Aquarium Heaters

SunSun makes fully submersible glass heaters under the JRB series. These are adjustable thermostat heaters available in wattages ranging from 50W for nano tanks all the way to 500W for large tanks and pond setups. The glass tube construction distributes heat evenly and the thermostat holds temperature tightly once calibrated. The JRB series is one of the most widely sold heater lines in the budget to mid-range segment globally. At Ocean Paws we stock the SunSun JRB Series Heater in 200W (Rs. 699) and 300W (Rs. 799).

SunSun Canister Filters

The HW series canister filters are arguably SunSun’s most popular product line worldwide. Available from small 300 litre per hour models for tanks under 100 litres up to large 2000 litre per hour models for tanks above 500 litres, the HW series covers the full range of freshwater and marine filtration needs. They come with multi-stage media trays, self-priming heads and UV steriliser attachments on certain models. SunSun canister filters regularly appear on hobbyist forums as a top recommendation for value canister filtration.

SunSun Submersible Pumps

SunSun produces submersible pumps across multiple series for different applications. The HJ series covers smaller tanks and fountains, the HQJ series covers mid-range flow for general aquarium circulation and the JQP series is built for high flow applications including sump return pumping for reef tanks and pond circulation. At Ocean Paws we stock the SunSun JQP Series Submersible Pump in three flow rates: JQP-1500 (Rs. 1150), JQP-2500 (Rs. 1400) and JQP-3500 (Rs. 2499).

SunSun Wavmakers

The JVP series wavmakers are compact powerheads designed to create natural water movement inside the aquarium. Good water circulation eliminates dead spots, keeps waste particles suspended for filtration to remove, and improves oxygen exchange at the surface. The JVP series is widely used in reef tanks and marine setups where consistent flow direction and quiet operation matter. We stock the SunSun JVP 131 Wavemaker (Rs. 1299) which delivers 6000 litres per hour at just 8 watts.

SunSun UV Sterilisers and Air Pumps

SunSun also produces UV sterilisers that attach inline to canister filters or run as standalone units to reduce free-floating bacteria, algae and parasites in the water column. Their HJB series air pumps are compact, quiet single and dual outlet pumps suitable for freshwater tanks, sponge filters and brine shrimp hatching setups. Both product lines are widely available and frequently paired with other SunSun equipment for a complete setup.
