Dophin Aquarium Equipment Brand Overview

Dophin is a Taiwanese aquarium equipment brand manufactured by Jinjiang Qimei Industry, one of Asia’s established aquarium hardware producers. The brand has a wide product range covering filtration, filter media, air pumps, protein skimmers and aquarium maintenance accessories. Dophin products are designed for both freshwater and marine aquariums and are widely distributed across Southeast Asia, India and Europe. At Ocean Paws we stock Dophin filter media and air pumps with pan India shipping.

Dophin Canister Filters

Dophin’s most recognised product line is their CF series external canister filters. The range runs from the compact CF-300 (410 litres per hour) for tanks under 100 litres, through mid-range models like the CF-600 and CF-800, up to large volume models including the CF-11008, CF-11308 and CF-11508 for tanks above 300 litres. All CF series filters use multi-stage media trays allowing hobbyists to customise mechanical, biological and chemical filtration in sequence. The canister design is efficient and relatively quiet, making it popular for display tanks in living rooms and offices. Dophin also makes the C series, a more compact canister line for smaller setups.

Dophin Internal Filters

The Dophin F series internal filters are submersible units designed for tanks under 100 litres. They are simpler than canister filters and easier to maintain, making them a practical choice for beginners or as supplementary filtration in breeding and quarantine tanks.

Dophin Filter Media

Dophin produces a dedicated range of filter media for use in their canister and internal filters or any third-party filter. The media range covers all three stages of aquarium filtration. At Ocean Paws we stock the full Dophin media range.

Dophin Zeolite (Rs. 290) is a natural mineral that absorbs ammonia directly from the water column. It is particularly useful during the cycling phase of a new tank and as a safety buffer during heavy feeding periods.

Dophin Ceramic Rings (Rs. 250) provide a high surface area for beneficial bacteria colonies. The porous ceramic structure allows faster bacterial establishment and longer colony retention compared to smooth plastic bio media.

Dophin Activated Carbon (from Rs. 299) removes dissolved organics, tannins, odours and trace toxins from the water through chemical adsorption. Replace every four to six weeks for consistent performance.

Dophin Air Pumps

Dophin makes single and dual outlet air pumps for freshwater and marine tanks. They are compact, low noise units suited for running sponge filters, air stones and protein skimmers. We stock the Dophin Air Pump (from Rs. 290).

Dophin Protein Skimmers

Dophin makes the WG series internal protein skimmers for marine and reef tanks. Protein skimmers remove dissolved organic compounds from the water before they break down into ammonia, which is especially important in heavily stocked marine tanks and reef systems. The WG series is one of the more affordable entry points into marine protein skimming in India and is a product category that most other Indian online aquarium stores do not carry for the Dophin brand.

Dophin Auto Feeders and Accessories

Dophin also produces automatic fish feeders for tanks where regular daily feeding needs to happen without manual intervention. These are useful for travel periods or consistent feeding schedules. Their battery-powered aquarium cleaners handle gravel vacuuming and maintenance tasks.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dophin

Can I use Dophin Zeolite and Ceramic Rings together?
Yes. Run zeolite in the first filter chamber to catch ammonia and ceramic rings in the next for biological filtration. This layered approach gives you both chemical and biological coverage in one pass.

How often should I replace Dophin Activated Carbon?
Every four to six weeks under normal conditions. If water starts yellowing or developing an odour sooner, replace it earlier. Never rinse activated carbon in tap water as chlorine degrades its performance.
