Intan Fish Food Brand Overview

Intan is India’s first professionally formulated premium ornamental fish food brand, developed by Growel Feeds. Growel has been in the animal nutrition industry for decades and the Intan range brings that scientific expertise to aquarium fish keeping. Unlike generic fish food brands that sell one or two all-purpose pellets, Intan produces species specific formulations designed around the actual dietary needs, gut biology and feeding behaviour of individual fish types. At Ocean Paws we stock a wide selection of Intan products and ship across India.

Intan Freshwater Fish Food Range

Intan makes a comprehensive range of freshwater fish food covering community fish, livebearers, cichlids, goldfish, flowerhorns, koi and turtles. The formulations address three things most generic foods ignore: digestibility matched to each species’ gut length, colour pigments appropriate to the fish’s natural colouration, and pellet size suited to mouth size. Key products in the freshwater range include goldfish pellets with colour enhancing nutrients, flowerhorn pellets with kok development support, cichlid pellets for larger predatory cichlids, guppy pellets for small livebearers, betta pellets with high protein content, koi joy pellets for pond koi and turtle sticks for freshwater turtles.

At Ocean Paws we currently stock Intan Bits (from Rs. 160) for community freshwater fish, Intan Gold Fish Pellets (from Rs. 100) and Intan Flower Horn Pellets (from Rs. 120).

Intan Arowana Food

Arowana have specific feeding requirements that generic sticks and pellets simply do not meet. Intan makes floating arowana sticks sized for large arowana mouths with high protein content to support growth and condition. They also produce colour enhancement formulations for arowana keepers working on improving the red, gold or silver colouration of their fish. We stock Intan Arowana Sticks in two stick sizes at Rs. 290.

Intan Wafers for Bottom Feeders and Herbivores

Sinking wafers are the correct way to feed bottom dwelling fish like plecos, corydoras, loaches and other algae eaters. Surface pellets float past them entirely. Intan makes ornamental fish wafers for general bottom feeders and dedicated herbivore wafers with a higher plant content including seaweed and algae for fish that primarily graze. We stock Intan Ornamental Fish Wafers (from Rs. 120).

Intan Marine Fish Food

Marine fish have stricter and more varied nutritional requirements than freshwater species. Intan produces marine wafers with seaweed, algae and marine-specific trace minerals suited to tangs, blennies, gobies, damsels and other reef safe species. The marine range is one of the harder Intan product lines to find in India. We stock Intan Marine Wafers (from Rs. 280).
